Daysy – who is she?

So what is daysy?

Daysy is an intelligent fertility tracker that lets you get to know your very own menstrual cycle. Thanks to Daysy, you know exactly when you are in your fertile window and when you are not, and, it’s more accurate than the pill when used correctly! I know, I didn’t actually believe it either, but then I started seeing more people talking about it and I didn’t know what I wanted to do coming off the pill, so I started YouTubing daysy reviews. NOT ONE review was negative, not one.

The reviews are what made me commit and the next thing to do was place the order.

I ordered daysy from the Australian supplier and I ordered the 2.0 version.. the 2.0 syncs with the daysyview app via Bluetooth rather than the cord. It arrived in a little white box which I thought was super cute.

In the box;

  • Daysy
  • Quick guide
  • Charging cable
  • Daysy manual

Before I started playing with her, I read the instruction manual. Familiarized myself with what each colour meant, how to enter my period etc.

The first bleed after stopping hormonal birth control is called a “withdrawal bleed” and should not be entered into daysy. This bleed is a withdrawal from the hormone and is not a real period. The amount of time until your period returns after HBC is unknown, every woman’s body is different.

After 4 weeks of temping, I’m still getting yellow days as I have not entered menstruation yet..

Yellow means daysy is still learning you and your body and be careful when having sex. Once I enter in a few of my cycles (fingers crossed it returns soon) daysy will start displaying green day’s.

Green is “not fertile” and you’re safe to have sex on these days.

Red days are ovulation, if your trying to avoid then don’t have sex over red days at all!

This is how the app looks and all my yellow days.

So far body wise, my face broke out on week 3 with pimples galore.. I think I had more than I have in my life, especially at once. I haven’t dropped weight but then again I don’t weigh myself. I’m keeping track by measurements but 2 weeks in wasn’t much change. From what I read it can take 2-3 months for my body to normalize again.. so I’ll be patient.

This is what my chart looks like, after temping every single day. How daysy works is that you take your temperature every morning (in your mouth guys) straight away from waking, before you do anything else. You need to have had a minimum of 3 hours solid, uninterrupted sleep before taking your temp, or it’ll throw it out.

If my dog wakes me up in the middle of the night, I check the time to see whether I need to temp then, or if I can still do it when I wake up.. it’s a little getting used too but I’m in such a routine now. Daysy doesn’t need you to temp at the same time every day which is great because I wake up a lot later on weekends then I do during the week!

If your sick or have consumed alcohol the night before they recommend you skip your temp, as this may throw the numbers out. I did trial this as I’m still on my yellow days.. to see how if alcohol affects me, my temp did rise but then it’s stayed the same the following day..

I’ll be doing another update in a few months time to let you all know how I’m doing, hopefully my period returns soon.
